JACKSON, MI – Performance Automotive Superstore announced plans to expand their Jackson operations through a warehouse consolidation in the 40,000 square-foot warehouse at 546 North Mechanic Street, on the corner of Ganson Street across from the Armory Arts Project. Performance Automotive, a locally-owned regional auto parts supplier, expects to invest $1.2 million in the project and create an estimated 30 jobs.
“I am pleased with the completion of another successful project that is bringing jobs to the City of Jackson,” said Mayor Karen Dunigan. “The Enterprise Group and Barry Hicks from the City’s Brownfield Redevelopment Authority put in a lot of effort to help one of Jackson’s valued companies continue to grow.”
“As a locally owned and operated company,” said Tim Stone, President of Performance Automotive Inc, “we’re excited to be participating in the renovation of this neighborhood, and can’t wait to open the facility this summer. The help provided by Barry Hicks and the City of Jackson was invaluable in working through the environmental issues at this site.”
The Enterprise Group of Jackson facilitated the expansion by working with City of Jackson officials on financial incentives for Performance Automotive. The result was a $19,000 grant provided by the City of Jackson’s Brownfield Redevelopment Authority. The funds will assist Performance Automotive with environmental due diligence costs on the site.
